Carrot Top’s Lament.

October 16th, 2007 by halou

When you’ve got a lot of competing priorities, it’s hard to always be doing that which you SHOULD be doing. Things that are recreational become work because they are of a higher priority than more ‘practical’ things. Funny, but true. So, we have been struggling with what should be done when and for how long.

Rebecca and I continue to record vocals for the Halou record and write songs for that which comes after - looking like an Invisible Ballet - all of which is fun and work at the same time. Most recently, we have been down in the dungeons here forcing vocals to work with effects trickery. As amusing as watching Gallagher smash watermelons, I assure you. The results are, as ever, satisfying. The process, as is often the case: difficult. For lack of a better metaphor, ‘one can’t engrave the same epitaph twice’. Right…

Making music, of course, is much more trite and loads more ridiculous than a lot of things, but then, it’s what I’ve got to write about here, so I attempt to make it colorful (tolerable?).

As you may have come to expect, once 5pm hits, priorities shift around here. Tonight, it came straight down to this. 14.8% alcohol without the tacky over-extraction that one so often finds in alcohol bombs. I expect to consume a fair bit of this in coming days and this blog’s content will surely reflect that.

Party
